(L5) On Sept 25 Panasonic will annonce the development of two FF cameras and three FF lenses

We now got some info about the Panasonic announcement on September 25. This is what they will announce:

1) Entry level Full Frame L-mount camera with IBIS, 4k60p and Low Resolution Sensor
2) Pro level Full Frame L-mount camera with IBIS, 4k60p and High Resolution Sensor (close to 50MP)
3) New Full Frame 24-70mm zoom lens
4) New Full Frame 50mm fast prime
5) New Full Frame 70-200mm zoom lens

I also heard some MFT accessory will be compatible with the new camera system! Keep in mind this will be a development announcement. The first camera should be on market by March 2019. Detailed full specs will be probably announced in January only.

From super solid sources we have learned that Panasonic will announce three new L mount Full Frame lenses at Photokina. Two are zoom lenses and one is a fast prime.

Just a quick note: Name change to L-rumors.com

After some discussion with readers I realized the more appropriate domain name is L-rumors.com. This because what Leica, Sigma and Panasonic will have in common is the L-mount. It’s not an exciting name but I have no better idea than that.

I am going to make the changes within 1-2 hours. And than move forward with the design while at the same time posting new rumors

Leica, Panasonic and Sigma are becomig new partners to build a new Full Frame system around the SL mount

And well here we are: Three companies have now teamed up to launch a new Full Frame system camera project. It will be based on the well-known Leica SL mount which has six (expensive) lenses in their lineup.

All three companies recognized they will have to work together to stand a chance against the big three: Canon, Nikon and Sony.

All three companies will be equal partners with all three of them launching cameras and lenses in the upcoming months to create a full mature system in a much shorter period of time than Canon and Nikon can do with their new FF mirrorless system
