(L3) No clue if that’s right: High 5K movie mode on Panasonic S1?

I just got this image from a first time anonymous source. this means I cannot guarantee the info is correct. He said the Panasonic S1 he is testing has a High 5K movie mode and on the image you can see the exact resolution.

I hope other sources can confirm or deny this. And if the anonymous sender is reading this…can you also give me some more info…like pricing? 🙂

(L5) The Panasonic S1R can take 187 Megapixel images in High Resolution mode!

I just learned the Panasonic S1R can take 187 Megapixel images in High Resolution mode!!! Damn impressive! On top you can see an image showing the 187 MP image in 8x!

This is Panasonic introduction text to the High Res mode:

High Resolution Mode

Taking advantage of the Body Image Stabilizer. (I.S.) mechanism, eight consecutive images are automatically shot while shifting the sensor. These eight images are synthesized into a single image by the new Venus Engine, which boasts high-speed signal processing. Precise details are faithfully reproduced to be saved as a beautiful, highly realistic image. This mode is ideal for shooting natural landscapes or fine art objects with delicate details.

Considering situations where moving subjects are included in the scene, sub options are available to suppress motion blur, so photographers can use this mode the same as shooting in a normal photo shooting mode.

*Availability date may vary depending on the sales area •Design and specifications are subject to change without notice.

(L5) First leaked image of the new Panasonic 70-200mm f/4.0 S lens

We just got this first leaked image of the production ready lens which clearly shows the constant f/4.0 aperture.
So the guess from Digitalcameraworld  that the new 70-200mm S lens might have f/2.8 aperture were off. Pity because that 77mm filter thread is the same we get on the Sony 70-200mm f/2.8 GM.

The full reviews and preorder opening will happen on Friday February 1st at 11:00 London time. But we hopefully will get more info in the next hours too!
