PetaPixel explains why Sigma has to make an APS-C L-mount camera:

For starters, Sigma now has a lovely line of mirrorless APS-C lenses that cover a pretty fantastic range. But perhaps more important is that L-mount has not seen an APS-C camera in quite some time. The last one was the Leica CL from 2017. Either Sigma thinks there’s an existing market for APS-C lenses in L-Mount — I don’t know what that market is — or it thinks there will be a market. I’m inclined to think the latter.

Fujirumors reports that Sigma will also announce the 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN on October 5th. Every DC DN lens is available for E-mount and L-mount so I am sure this will be coming for those mounts too. This means we can expect two new lenses next week:

• Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 E and L-mount lens
• Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN  X, E, L-mount

On October 5 at 9am London time Sigma will announce a new product. And I was the first to tell you ahead of time that we are likely getting a new 70-200mm f/2.8 lens for both Sony E and Leica L-mount 😉

SAR reports that Sigma plans a live streaming event on October 6th. And they are likely to announce the new 70-200mm f/2.8 lens (for both Sony E and Leica L)

At the Photo & Imaging 2023 event in China Panasonic managers said that demand of 8K on digital cameras is very weak and therefore you should not expect 8K to be implemented any time soon. This likely means that the S1H and the GH6 successor will both NOT have 8K recording.

If you remember back in 2017 Panasonic promised to launch an 8K MFT camera by 2020. Well, we might have to wait til the second half od this decade before this might happen 🙁
