Anhui China, Feb 10, 2021 – Venus Optics, the camera lenses manufacturer who had previously launched series of one-of-a-kind Laowa camera lenses, are proud to introduce the L mount to 2 wide angle lenses (4mm f/2.8 Fisheye, 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D) and 2 macro lenses (24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe, Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro).
The lenses are available at Venus Shop (worldwide shipment).
You can find the new Panasonic financial report here: panasonic.com/global/corporate/ir/release.html#2021. The company as a whole is doing great but in all their files there is not a single mention about their camera business. It’s therefore impossible to know if they are doing good.
According to the latest BCNRranking data Panasonic only holds 2.8% of the Full Frame market share in Japan. Eben less for Sigma but they only have the FP that makes their sales. I guess Panasonic expected to have a larger share by now with the launch of their excellent S5.
Nokishita has leaked the main specifications of the upcoming lens:
The specifications of Panasonic 70-300mm are 17 elements in 11 groups (2 ED lenses, 1 UED lens, 1 UHR lens), minimum shooting distance 0.54m (at 70mm) /0.74m (at 300mm), maximum shooting. It seems that the magnification is 0.5 times (at 300 mm), the filter diameter is 77 mm, the size is φ84 mm x 148 mm, and the weight is 790 g
