Confirmed: Panasonic 100mm f/2.8 macro coming on January 8th…here are more details
I can now confirm that Panasonic will announce the new 100mm f/2.8 macro on January 8th. Some more info about this lens:
- Lightest 100mm Full Frame macro in it’s class
- Comes with two switches: One for AF-MF and one for the focus range (macro, from 50cm or full).
- Close focus distance is 0,204m (20,4cm)
So far got no info about anything else being announced on that day.

Improvements:
- Operational stability when using in some storage devices has been improved.
- There were cases where horizontal lines would appear in the image when capturing JPEG photos in SH Burst Shot mode. This bug has been fixed.

The 100mm macro lens from Panasonic will be announced on January 8th?
Panasonic is rumored to announce the new 100mm macro lens on January 8th. On a much older roadmap this was marked as having a f/2.8 aperture while on the latest roadmap there was no mention of the exact specs. I go the info about the announcement date from one new source…so let’s hope he is spot on because he claims also to knwo what’s coming after that lens 😉
