Panasonic joins the Content Authenticity Initiative

Press text:

We are thrilled to welcome Panasonic as a member of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI), joining more than 4,500 media and technology companies, non-profits, creators, educators, and many others working together to build trust and transparency in our digital ecosystem.

“By joining the CAI, we are committed to contributing to the ecosystem, ensuring the authenticity of digital content, and fostering an environment of trust and transparency online,” said Toshiyuki Tsumura, Business Division Executive of the Imaging Solution Business Division at Panasonic Entertainment & Communication Co., Ltd. “This initiative also aligns with our corporate philosophy: Ahead in Innovation, Together in Emotion—Your Trusted Partner for Audio and Imaging Solutions.”

“We are very excited to welcome Panasonic to the CAI community,” said Santiago Lyon, Head of Advocacy and Education at the CAI. “The company has proven itself committed to relentless innovation, empowering photographers with cutting-edge technology—from early digital and superzoom cameras to their groundbreaking work, redefining mirrorless photography, and further offering a range of camera recorders from consumer to broadcast use. Adding Content Credentials to their industry-leading tools is a logical next step on the innovation path.”

The Panasonic L-mount cine camera will be announced on 13 May!

Finally I have some reliable info from trusted sources: On 13 May, Panasonic will introduce a new full-frame L-mount camera! What I know about this camera so far is:

  • It’s a cine-focussed L-mount Full Frame camera
  • Superior performance compared to the current S5IIx

Still to be confirmed:

  • Probably not the successor of the S1H
  • Direct competitor to the Sony FX3, which probably means it’s compact and doesn’t have an EVF

If you happen to know more about this Share rumors using this contact box, Signal, Telegram, or contact me via lrumorscameras@gmail.com. Thanks!

So, I hope that soon I can tell you more about this camera. Also keep in mind that Panasonic did register multiple new cameras in Asia so there might be one more camera announcement in June/July….could this be a fixed lens camera?

Blackmagic is the first camera manufacturer to announce price increases due to the new tariffs

Blackmagic writes:

We wanted to post a quick note on USA prices and the new government tariff changes.
Most products in the USA have increased and please check our web site for details. DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Cloud prices remain the same. It’s also worth noting the price increases only affect the US and prices in other counties are currently unchanged.
